OGCON 2026 - The Scudder Legacy

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Christian Medical College Vellore, together with the
Vellore Obstetric and Gynecology society is privileged to host OGCON 2026. This conference is inspired by the enduring legacy of Dr. Ida Scudder—a pioneer who envisioned a healthcare system rooted in compassion, service and excellence, primarily for the poor and needy. In an era of rapidly advancing science and technology, the practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology challenges us to hold firmly to this vision by remaining rooted in sound basic principles, guided by the best available evidence that can be translated into thoughtful, responsible and innovative clinical practice for the women entrusted to our care.

This conference will address a broad range of topics - from conception to childbirth and the postpartum period, along with preventive care to complex gynecological diseases of adolescence to menopause. We warmly invite the medical fraternity from Obstetrics, Gynecology and related specialities to join us for this special academic gathering to learn from one another, exchange experiences, challenge established thinking, and reflect on the values that shape our profession.
